Why counselling is so wonderful
Yes, of course, I’m biased – but I have seen many times how counselling can help people to live stronger, more fulfilled lives. Therapy has lost a lot of its stigma in recent years, and we can finally talk more openly about mental health issues like anxiety, stress, burnout, depression, and overwhelm. But these problems have also become more common in recent years.
Issues like climate change, the rising cost of living, and the isolation and loneliness of the pandemic, as well as the increasing complexity and pace of life, are causing general and social anxiety. Many people are feeling more stressed, hopeless, and not able to control their lives. Times of change and personal crisis also contribute to this load.
This is where counselling can help. During our sessions, you have a welcoming and safe space to get to know and understand yourself better. As a person-centred counsellor, I believe that you are the expert, and I don't judge or influence your values. You can learn to understand your triggers and develop effective tools to deal with your issues. You learn what makes you tick, what your strengths are, and how to change your life for the better.
Counselling can provide the tools to deal with anxiety and social phobia, to develop self-care to feel less stressed and more in control. It can help with depression and support you to feel confident and in control of your emotions.
Often it is a relief to simply know that there is a space and time, where you can stop, sit, and share with someone who is on your side. If you would like to find out if we would work well together, please contact me for your free 15-minute chat.
