Kate’s Story

Kate is a 38-year-old wellbeing coordinator at a busy school, juggling the needs of staff, students, and her own team. Before starting our sessions, she often felt like she was too much – too intense, too sensitive, too exhausted by things that didn’t seem to bother others.

She is brilliant at her job, with a big heart and creative mind, but the constant noise, people contact, and shifting expectations left her overwhelmed. By the time she got home, she had nothing left for her partner, and even catching up with friends felt like another obligation.

Together, we worked through the deep-rooted belief that she had to tone herself down to be accepted - a message she'd absorbed since childhood. Using a mix of counselling, and working with her body, breath, and EFT Tapping, we made space for the emotions she’d had to push aside. We explored her sensory needs and energy cycles, and shaped a life that fit the way her nervous system actually works.

Now, Kate starts her mornings with a quiet walk before work, speaks more openly with her partner, and no longer feels guilty for saying no. She’s still passionate about helping others, but she no longer sacrifices herself to do it.

These days, she checks in every few months for a ‘reset and fine-tuning’ session, and often tells me she wishes she’d done this work years ago. She's no longer trying to be less, but is living in a way that finally feels like her.
